Using the
Guestbook
1. I keep
trying to load my images, but they won't show up.
Images must
be in the ".jpg" or ".gif" format, or they will
not be accepted by the guestbook. Most image editing software will
easily allow you to convert your images to jpeg or gif if they are
not already in this format. Also, some images may not show up due
to a slow connection. This occurs when the connection ends up crashing
before the image is completely downloaded.
2. I see
people posting responses within the same post. How do you do that?
Above the post,
you'll see a little icon with a pencil and pad of paper. Click on
that, fill out the response form, and then submit it.
3. How do
I make those emoticons (happy faces, bouncing blobs, etc.) show
up in my post?
See the legend
for the code you must enter into your message. Enter the code, for
example, enter ":clown:" and the face of the clown will
appear in that location once you submit your post.
4. I realized that I made a mistake in my post after I already submitted
it. How do I edit it?
You can't.
Since there are no passwords, no one is allowed to edit messages
except for the webmaster who obviously does have a password. If
everyone were able to edit messages without a password, then a prankster
could get in there and have a field day. If you want something fixed,
just let me know (Mike@bhs1983.com) and I'll change it for you quickly.
5. Do I
have to size my image down before I can post it on the Guestbook?
For it to show
up correctly in the guestbook, no you don't. It will automatically
size the photo down for the post. However, if possible, size your
photos so that they're not bigger than the 700x700 pixel range.
When people click on the smaller image in the post, it would be
nice for people to see a bigger image, but not an image that needs
4 computer screens to view!!!
6. How many
images can I post?
Each post can
accept one image, and you can post as many as pics as you like.
The pics can be of anything that you think may be of interest to
your fellow classmates. However, discretion, good taste and common
sense go a long ways in this department.
7. I'm in the Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1982,
and I have two friends in the Burroughs High School Class of 1985
and Burroughs High School Class of 1981. Can we also sign the 1983
Guestbook?
You can if
you'd like, but I'm going to create a "Friends of 1983"
Guestbook up soon, and this would be the best place to post when
it's up. Past teachers, friends from all other classes such as the
Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1980
Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1981
Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1982
Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1984
Sherman E. Burroughs High School Class of 1985
are all encouraged to sign in and post photos. I think I've
received at least one email from someone in the Class of 80, Class
of 81, Class of 82, Class of 84, Class of 85, and a few other classes
regarding this.
